About

Victor Cambet looks at the world with close attention to the unexpected, vivid scenes, striking characters, and everyday details that often go unnoticed. His work dives headfirst into the flashy, the glamorous, and the wonderfully absurd — a playful visual world that echoes the spirit of Martin Parr while remaining entirely his own.

Partial Illusion explores the subtle relationship between appearance and reality. The title reflects the artist’s own personality. Naturally shy and reserved, Victor adopts an opposite presence when photographing strangers in public spaces. To remain unobtrusive and avoid suspicion, he projects confidence and assurance, a necessary shift in street photography. His bold, highly saturated images reflect a more expressive inner personality that usually remains unseen.
